All Aboard! It's Time for the 34th Annual Blue Water Area Railroad Show & Swap Shop

America's love for trains and the lore that goes with it has lasted since the first tracks were laid in the country back in early 1800s. As the first form of mass transportation over land many stories have told and mementos exchanged. Recreations gathered from them on smaller scales have been built in homes,  businesses along with locations out of the ordinary for over a century.

For over three decades now many enthusiast of trains, both of scale models and the steel horses that have plied nation's tracks, have gathered in Port Huron for the annual Blue Water Area Railroad Show & Swap Meet. This year, the 34th annual edition of the show is happening at the Blue Water Convention Center on Sunday, May 22nd.

Fans of locomotion travel miles to check out the show, looking for that particular piece for their collection from the many vendors. It's not just a swap shop and flea market though. There will also be operating exhibits, displays and scenic train layouts to captivate generations of hobbyists. Bring the little ones too because for a dollar they can take a train ride with Dan The Choo-Choo Man.

If you're a vendor and are interested in being part of the show-you still have time to register. It's to all exhibitors with an interest in model railroading of all scales and gauges. Also, railroad memorabilia, antiques, time tables, dining car silverware and china or any railroad items may be displayed.  You can download a vendor application here or contact the Blue Water Convention Center at 810-201-5513 for more information.

The 2016 Blue Water Area Railroad Show & Swap Meet is open to the public. Admission $5.00 at the door and kids under 5 are free.
