Friday nights are usually hopping in the city of Port Huron. This Friday night though they'll be doing even more so with two events that will have people out and about.
Port Huron Museum's annual Hoptoberfest. The museum invites you to join them at the Fort Gratiot Light Station for dinner, drinks and music from Ian Smith & Co. From there, transportation will be provided so you can hop to see some other sights in town. This year hoppers get a special treat as the event includes a chance for hoppers to check out the Sperry's Theater before it opens to the general public.
You can hear an interview that Port Huron Museum's executive director Susan Bennett and event co-chair Jim Berry did with WPHM's Paul Miller about Hoptoberfest here.
Tickets, which include 2 beverages, transportation, appetizers, a full meal and entertainment, are $65 or 2 for $125 for museum members and $75 or 2 for $140 for guests. You can get them by calling the museum 810-982-0891 ext. 110 or at Eventbrite. All proceeds from Hoptoberfest go to benefit the museum's four sites and you must be 21 to attend.
A couple of times each year, downtown Port Huron shops and offices turn into art galleries. From 6-9pm this Friday they'll be doing it again with the Fall Art Hop. Take a stroll around to 21 locations on Huron Avenue and Military Street and check out with many local area artists, musicians and craftspeople will have on display.
