Travel Writers Are Taking Notice Of Port Huron

When it comes to must see places and things to do in the Great Lakes State this year, our has area been getting some very nice things said about it.

On Tuesday, Aaron Cruz of the all things Michigan website Awesome Mitten had a guest blog posted on Pure Michigan's website about the 7 Must-See Michigan Destinations for 2016. The city of Port Huron was one of the places.

In the article, he mentions sights to see such as the Fort Gratiot Light Station and the Blue Water Bridge and stopping off for a bite to eat at the Raven Cafe. Check out the entire write up here.

 
2016 marks the 4th year for the Blue Water Sand Fest. Each year it grows even bigger and better than the year before. Recently, travel website Hipmunk ranked the their picks for the top 5 Sand Sculpting Festivals in the USA.

One's in California, Oregon and Washington were mentioned but ranking in at #2 (only beat out by the Headlands BeachFest in Ohio) was the Port Huron's. Read about it here.

In 2014, the Blue Water Sand Fest was also voted one of the ten best Sand Sculpting Competitions in the country by USA Today travel too. The dates for the 2016 Blue Water Sand Fest are July 8 through the 10th.
