Keeping Cool On The Hot Days

The weather forecast is calling from some serious heat over the next few days. Luckily, this is the Blue Water Area and we have Lake Huron to cool us down. Today we've selected five photos from Instagram of the area showing how some people beat the heat.

TBT: Port Huron's International Day Parade 1969

Wasn't it a great parade in Port Huron last night? Plenty of fun for the whole family and though it looked like rain toward the end the clouds held out until it finished.

For this Throwback Thursday we go back the 1969. On that year, the International Day Parade was held on July 16th on that year which also happened to be the same day that the Apollo 11 was launched for it's journey to land on the moon. None the less, people filled the streets of downtown Port Huron to watch the floats, marching bands and, as in this photo, the Lionettes majorettes passing in front the Harrington, go by.

See some photos from this year's parade over at our Facebook page.

This year's Blue Water Fest kicks off today with Family Night activities starting at 5pm and fireworks at dusk.

What are some of your favorite Blue Water Fest memories?
